The Glory of Divine Ability

The glory that Christ received from the Father (John 17:22) was that which enabled him in the flesh to accomplish the work of our salvation—the indwelling Spirit who “remained on Him” (John 1:33). Christ gave this glory to his Church on the bases of his accomplishment as our High Priest and sacrifice. This glory then, given to us is the reward of the work of Christ (Isaiah 53:12; Romans 8:17), which enables us to persevere in the faith.
