The True Temple of God

Just as God's king and priest were empowered by His Spirit to build that temple in Jerusalem in the face of hostile world opposition, and just as it began with very small beginnings that might tend to discourage the people, so John now tells us that Christ's king-priests - His Church - will by His Spirit build His Kingdom/Temple by the powerful preaching of the gospel no matter how much opposition is set against those efforts.
