(42) You Must Respond to the Gospel

76 ( 9 | 67 )

The gospel, in its most simple terms is good news. The gospel is a presentation of facts. It is a report of how the suffering and death of Jesus brings salvation to everyone who believes. According to the apostle Paul the gospel is not incredible, or impossible to believe (Acts 26:8). In fact, the events fundamental to the gospel message happened in public and can be verified (Acts 26:26). The gospel is a believable record of God's saving work in Christ.

Let's not forget that the gospel also demands a response. It is not like much of the "news" on social media feeds that can be safely ignored by speed-scrolling. The gospel report always includes this question, "Do you believe it?"

Acts 26:1–32 features, for the third time, Paul's testimony, his report of how Christ confronted him and tasked him to tell others the news that he had come to believe. The chapter ends with three possible responses to the gospel which can be the difference between life and death.
