Who Moved The Stone?

28

If we discount the resurrection for a moment, then who moved the stone? Did the soldiers who guarded the tomb? They had no purpose. For them to fail in their duties would risk their lives. Did the disciples steal the body? If they did, what would they do with it? Would they continue to deceive the multitudes and go to their graves preaching a lie? Furthermore, how could they fight off trained soldiers?
Did Jesus wake up and move the stone himself? Remember, He was tightly wrapped in 100 lbs. of spices and linen. Even if he survived and was able to unwrap the linen, the question still remains, who moved the stone?
“Furthermore, when Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women . . . returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest, . . . their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not – Luke 24:9-11.
In addition to the above, it is reported that Jesus walked several miles on the Emmaus road that day with two of His disciples. How could a man being beaten, whipped, crucified, pierced on the side and left for dead escape the tomb and then walk several miles hours later with his disciples? Unless, Jesus actually resurrected. This message will examine the question, "Who moved the stone?"
