Belshazzar's Perverted Feast
Series Daniel
133 ( 64 | 69 )
Though under siege by the Medo-Persians, Belshazzar the king held a great feast for a thousand of his nobles. Maybe to calm fears, and maybe to show off, but clearly to mock the God of Israel, he called for the gold and silver vessels that his grandfather had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, and proceeded to hand them out as drinking cups for his feast. God intervened with fingers supernaturally appearing and writing on the wall a message of judgment. The king, his nobles and his wise men could not explain the message, but the queen directed him back to Daniel as God's man for the interpretation.
