The Zeal & Knowledge of Jesus

Jim Elliot who had so much to say and write concerning zeal used to say:

"Am I ignitable? God deliver me from the dread asbestos of 'other things'. Saturate me with the oil of the Spirit that I may be a flame."

James R. Graham put it so well when he said:

"Those who in time past have wrought great things for God have possessed a sanctified energy totally devoid of sloth."

This is a fascinating and highly instructive passage, offering much toward our spiritual growth, as watch & listen to our Lord Jesus Christ. Here again he surprises, delights and challenges us.

Being able to spend time with Jesus like this, is both an honor and the secret to
continual growth in a first love relationship with Him
