A big misunderstanding

In this chapter the 2 and 1/2 tribes are allowed to return to their portion of land on the other side of the Jordan River. But, in order to be sure that they are not forgotten by the 9 1/2 tribes dwelling in Canaan; they erect an altar to serve as a witness between them. A big misunderstanding follows, and while war is avoided; we learn that we should be careful about jumping to conclusions about people. Especially our brothers and sisters in Christ.
