61. Taking the Sword of the Spirit

The Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, is that weapon which is so sadly neglected today. A believer cannot be very successful in spiritual warfare if you are only on the defense. It will have a tendency to wear you down and discourage you. Making advances and gains on the offense is what a true church is to do. We are to storm the gates of hell and it shall not prevail against us. That is the promise of Christ! May God help us to become expert, not as babes, in wielding this mighty sword.
