Enter His Rest With Diligence

The writer reminds us, using examples from the Old Testament, of the cost of unbelief. The Israelites, even after seeing God's hand deliver them and work great signs and wonders, disbelieved, hardening their hearts. The sincerity and depth of initial belief of a believer is proved by overall lifelong faith, and those who have such faith will enter God's rest. But is this rest here on Earth, or in Heaven? In any event, we are commanded to be diligent -- a stong word -- to live a faithful life of love and service to God.
