Four Hindrances To Evangelism and World Missions

Why is it that in Jesus' earthly ministry so often when He strictly warned men to not make Him known they did so anyway, and now that He has commanded all of His people to make Him known to every creature we act like deaf mutes? Rebecca Pippert once said "Christians and non-Christians have something in common: they both hate evangelism!" What is it that hinders us from laboring in personal evangelism? What road blocks are there to keep us from fully obeying our Lord's Great Commission? In this message we examine four hindrances to evangelism. The first three are our great enemies: the devil, the world, and our own sinful flesh. The fourth is in a category all its own. This fourth hindrance is not an enemy of evangelism like the first three, quite the contrary. Indeed, this fourth is the dearest friend of both us and evangelism.
