3A. Jesus and the Forgiveness of Sin

The theme this year is ‘Out of the Depths: God's Forgiveness of Sin'. In these studies we have begun to see that we cannot know what sin is, or what forgiveness is, except by revelation from God. This is not just because as sinners we are self-deceived and self-justifying. Forgiveness lies at the heart of the very nature of God. So true forgiveness, and what it addresses, can come to us rightly only as we are met savingly by God revealing Himself to us. The topic this month is Jesus and the Forgiveness of Sin.
