The Exaltation of Christ

In this quite marvellous confession of faith, Paul sweeps from the lowest humiliation of Christ in the grave to the very highest status at the right hand of God the Father. He is given a name above every name, that of God himself. Jesus of Nazareth is declared to be Jehovah, and with this he receives the highest reputation. The response? Whether in this life or at the judgement, all will submit to Christ and acknowledge his Lordship. Believers have experienced a shadow of this process, having humbled themselves and received exaltation to sit even now in heavenly places, sharing the throne. But we nevertheless continue in our daily submission to, and confession of, our saviour, the LORD Jesus Christ.
