Wine — Some Thoughts on Drinking

There's a pretty good chance that what we glamorize our children will idolize...

That beer and wine, is not worth it! That liquor or self medicating, or anything of that nature, ain't worth glamorizing. Because nothing is worth idolizing. Give your children something better to rely upon and something far greater to find hope in. They know WHY you turn to it... they're not ignorant nor innocent to your motives. Don't set them up nor provide them with a stage to display your folly in the days ahead. I encourage you, show them NOW, where you are, that they don't need it to have fun, or to cope with life or to escape the pain of disappointments and let downs or to relax after a busy and stressful day.

Drinking has never solved (moderate consumption may help manage one) a single problem but it's super good at adding more sorrow to your sorrow (Proverbs 23:29-35). You can't expect the Lord to give you real solutions and wisdom for living, if you're depending on alcohol to fix your problems. You're smarter than that... and you know it. What you surrender to the Lord, in faith, not what you say you surrender to the Lord, but what we surrender to Him and seek first from Him, in an area of our lives, He get's involved in. I need Him...
