Ascending to the Father

Although the gospel of John does not record the actual ascension it is permeated with references to the ascension. The ascension is anticipated, defined, interpreted and predicted by Jesus. Where is the resurrected Jesus today? The incarnated Word after his suffering, death and resurrection went up into heaven's throne room in the glorified body of his incarnation. This sermon explores the gospel of John's understanding of Jesus return to the Father. 'I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”v. 28
