James Addresses His Brethren of Believers
Series James Series
55
James addresses his believing brethren in Jerusalem.
He first addresses his epistle to the "12 tribes" then focuses on "My brethren". He stresses the need for: conformity; sincerity; humility and stability.
Rev Aiken explores several Scriptural references to expound on the meaning of "belief" and "believers" in the context of: salvation, saving grace, appointment to eternal life and willingness to come to Christ when "called" and/or "drawn".
No study of James can avoid the "works-faith" controversy. Rev Aiken highlights James 2:17 - the meaning of which is that: grace is essential to salvation; works are essential to show evidence of grace/salvation received and working in the believer.
