The Effect of Timothy's Report on Paul
Series 1 Thessalonians
35 ( 32 | 3 )
Having dispatched Timothy and Silas back to Macedonia from Athens, Paul is alone in making his way to Corinth, where he suffers under the strain of not knowing what was going on in Thessalonica. For long months Paul waits for news. All the while, his own efforts in evangelism have diminished as he is weighed down by worry. Finally Timothy returns with joyous news of the condition of the Thessalonian church and Paul immediately sends this letter in response. Here we see the heart-felt concern of Paul for his beloved brethren in a persecuted church.
