Preparation for Judgment: 2nd Seal

We continue to prepare for the actual judgment of God to begin in chapter 8 as the second seal is broken. In chapter 6 we see the Lamb, Jesus Christ, who alone is authorized to open the heavenly scroll, continue the process one seal at a time. The scroll is not actually opened until all seven seals have been broken by Jesus Christ. While He is breaking the seals in heaven, a variety of activities begin to take place simultaneously on earth. These activities involve the first seal, the temporary rule of the antichrist - Jesus Christ is the rightful heir (like King Richard), but before He returns to reign, the false christ (Prince John) will reign in wickedness. This message covers the breaking of the second seal, when the antichrist is permitted to take peace from the entire earth in order that men should slay one another.
