Consequences of Sin

Today as we look at Genesis 3, we will see what happened after the very first sin. From our text I will show you five results of sin. As we consider these consequences of sin, I pray that God stirs up tow emotions inside of you. The first is hatred. I want you to hate sin! I want you to hate the destruction and pain that sin causes. Secondly, I pray that this morning you will feel desperation. I want you to desperately ask who will rescue me from the consequences of my sin?
5 Results (Consequences) of Sin:

1. Shame – v.7
2. – Guilt - v.8
3. Conflict – v.11-13
4. Pain – v.16-19a
5. Death

We all suffer this consequences of death. Every person is born spiritually dead. Our minds are darkened, our wills are enslaved, our hearts are stone cold dead toward our Creator.

Physically, mankind is now subject to disease, genetic defect, aging and death.

There is another final installment of death when God says depart from me I never knew you. Go into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. This is eternal death.

2. The Grace (Promise) of God v. 15
   Though Adam failed as our representative and brought sin death. Jesus brings salvation and eternal life to all who are united to Him by faith.

Our great need before God was someone to represent us and undo our tragedy from Adam.

His triumph would be at cost to Himself. We soon discover without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. At a cost we will never fathom. He bore our sin, He died our death. God laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
