The New Man, The New Behavioural Process and The New People
Series Colossians
The apostle further speaks of those sins which are to be mortified under the metaphor of putting off of a garment, and re-emphasises that all spiritual life and holiness proceed from Christ - only God can restore the holy nature, delivering sinners from both the guilt and the practice of sin.

What has by God's grace been done in principle (the crucifixion of the sin-dominated man) must be followed through in every believers' practice. The new behavioural process v8-10.
Every Christian is to develop and progress. Christ the author and purchaser of our sanctification as well as of justification. Nothing of man can make man less sinful. The negative image to be put off, v8,9.The new people v11.
