What Happens at the Lords Supper?

It is the remembrance of His work on our behalf which leads to our giving of thanks. See also 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
We participate in the proclamation of the Lord's death until He comes.
We find the inauguration of the New Covenant in the sacrificial blood of Jesus.
At the Lord's Supper we experience the first-fruit of the eschatological kingdom.
At the Lord's Supper we experience the life-giving presence of the Spirit to make this an effectual means of grace. John 14:25-27
At the Lord's Supper we participate in fellowship with the Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord – and all those “in Christ” have fellowship one with another. John 15:5-12; 1 Corinthians 10:14-22
At Communion, there must be the presence of faith in the believer, without which there can be no benefit. Hebrews 11:3
LBCF 30:6 – with the negations edited out: Worthy receivers, outwardly partaking in the visible elements in this ordinance, do then also inwardly, by faith, really and indeed,--- spiritually receive, and feed upon Christ crucified,and all the benefits of His death; the body and blood of Christ being ---spiritually present to the faith of believers in the ordinance, as the elements themselves are to their outward senses.
