03-Paul and the False Brothers

68

What did Paul think of the false brothers? How did he speak
of them? And what did he do about them? In his letter to the
Galatians and in his second letter to the Corinthians he made
all that, and more, perfectly clear.
When he wrote his second letter to Corinth,1 he opened his
case against the pseudadelphoi and their doctrine with an
oblique reference to them:
We are not, like so many, peddlers of God‟s word, but as
men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of
God we speak in Christ. Are we beginning to commend
ourselves again? Or do we need, as some do, letters of
recommendation to you, or from you? (2 Cor. 2:17 – 3:1).
