To Them that are Sanctified

Just as it is essential to understand the practical meaning of the theological significance of the words "the Lord Jesus Christ," it is equally essential that we understand the practical meaning of the theological significance of the words "to them that are sanctified by God the Father."

An epistle is a letter, and a letter is always addressed to someone. Those to whom a letter is addressed often defines the objective of the directive purpose for writing the letter. Only certain people can do what the epistle of Jude gives directions to do. The people to whom this letter is addressed and to whom the commands of this letter apply are "to them that are sanctified by God the Father" (Jude 1).
