Holding Them Back…

The blessing and burden of those who see others drawn toward death and stumbling toward the slaughter.

We have been rescued to become a follower of Jesus and to rescue the perishing. Many times we are oblivious to the fact there are countless amounts of people who are avoiding all the warning signs in life and swimming deep in the mire of sin and shame. We have been called on by God to rescue them. Yes, they are drawn toward death. Yes, they are stumbling to the slaughter. Yes, they are living in an authorized area. But we can't let them drown in it and gather the forces afterward to look for and investigate what happened. No! We must rescue the perishing before they die in their sins. We are responsible and accountable to God and man to do so. Can we neglect this responsibility? Yes! Will we be held accountable if we do? Yes! We must increase our intensity and involvement in this rescue effort, because there is no recovery once one dies in this life. We, in the kingdom, are the only ones in rescue work... let's do what we do and do it we'll.

The Bible tells us this was a position that God put Jeremiah, he elevated him (Jeremiah 6:27 ; 1:10), in a place that he could see and know things that people on ground level couldn't see. There's a lot we can see when we've been elevated, like a satellite or a coach in a press box overlooking a field. There's an advantage to being lifted to see things from God's advantage point.

Malachi, like Jeremiah, was going to be able to see things about those he was sent to lead out of the things that the people couldn't see about themselves. Jeremiah was going to see the direction of the nation that these people couldn'
