1 Corinthians 14--The confusion over tongues

Dr. Steven Woodworth teaches a family Bible study on 1 Corinthians 14 and discusses the difficult subject of tongues. It was a gift of speaking in a known language used to confirm to the Jews that they had rejected the Messiah and that the Holy Spirit of God fell upon believers. Then it seems to have devolved into an unknown language and Paul said he would rather speak 1 word of God's truth in a known language than 10,000 in an unknown language. Paul gives guidelines in 1 Corinthians 14 on the use of tongues -- and if believers who claim to have that gift today followed the guidelines, then they would remain silent.
