Church Membership: Is it Biblical?

There are some who claim that formal membership to a local church is an extra-biblical man made tradition that the modern Christian is free to disregard. But not everything that we are to learn from Holy Scripture is explicitly taught. Some things must be learned by good and necessary inference. In this message we learn that formal membership to the visible church is not only a good inference, but a necessary one. To profess to be a disciple of Christ but to keep oneself out from under the authority and accountability of the local church is ultimately rebellion against the One we claim to love and obey.
