1 - Colossians: Christ Above All - Series Introduction

This week we begin a new series of messages on The Scripture-Driven Church broadcast. The title of this series is "Christ Above All", and we'll be studying Paul's epistle to the Colossians.

The Apostle Paul told the believers in the church at Colossae that they were in danger of being cheated out of the things that were rightfully theirs because of Jesus Christ. Christians face the same kind of danger in the 21st century. We too can be cheated out of the riches that are to be found in Jesus Christ, by falling prey to empty philosophies, religious legalism, and man-made doctrines -- cheap substitutes for the authentic Christ, the authentic Word, and the authentic Gospel.

Dear Christian, accept no subsitutes for Gods inerrant Word! Accept no subsitutes for the Christ of the Bible! Accept no subsitutes for the authentic Gospel! Cling to Christ above all, because in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead in a body, and if you are truly trusting in Him alone, by grace alone, through faith alone, for your salvation, you are complete in Him.
