What Follows Amen? (2)

This message was given by Pastor Jonathan Stobbs as he continued his morning ministry in the book of Nehemiah. Very often we can hear a good sermon, or read a good book, or even be lifted in corporate worship, but what follows? We can say Amen to lots of things, but do we really implement them into the way that we live. The people in the time of Nehemiah had experienced a revival and a great outpuring of grace, yet it had an impact on them to the extent that they covenanted together to live in a manner pleasing to the Lord. In this message, Pastor Stobbs considers what the people emphasised after they had been under conviction. He looks at the second principle that the people treasured, in that they separated themselves unto the Lord. Specifically they addressed the issue of family life and marriage, as well as the Sabbath Day. Pastor Stobbs looks at how these priniciples should impact the believer. He calls for a return to Gospel-ordered homes and for the Lord's people to treasure the Lord's Day. The question is, are we living in the light of these scriptural priniciples in a manner pleasing to our Lord and Saviour?
