This sermon is the second in a three-part series: Warnings regarding our duty to put to death our sin

Show no mercy in the battle against your indwelling sin!

We often become convinced that our "earthly members" (our indwelling sin) will bring us life, when in fact the fruit of sin is death. It is a deadly addiction that we must crush and make entirely impotent.

Three warnings concerning how we ought to avoid making peace with our sin:

1. Do not establish peace with your sin by being satisfied with external conformity to an arbitrary standard without addressing indwelling sin. This is was the sin of the Pharisees. The true battle must be within our hearts.

2. Do not make peace with your sin by falling into weariness because of a misunderstanding of Christian morality

3. Do not make peace with your sin by blame-shifting and looking for a scapegoat.
