"The Call to Love"

Jesus came to pay the price for our failure to love – for our failure to reflect the loving character of our Creator. But even more than that, he came in love to transform us into people who would once again love as he loves. This is what John means when he speaks about our being "perfected" in love (vv. 17-18).
