(This Sunday School lesson was taught by member Charles Sheffield.)

The people in Acts 2 were pricked in their hearts after hearing Peter preach. This was a work of the Holy Spirit--they were convicted. This conviction produced a question, and when the question is asked, it produces results.

The Ethiopian eunuch, upon hearing Isaiah explained, asked, What doth hinder me to be baptized?; having already believed in his heart. The Philippian jailer asked, What must I do to be saved?, with a glad result.

These were told what to do, and they gave evidence.

They that gladly received his word were baptized and added to the church. These continued steadfastly, and grew in grace and knowledge of the Lord.
