Salvation & Justification (Phil 2)

111 ( 81 | 30 )

The Scriptures make it abundantly clear that we are not saved by good works but we are saved for good works.

When one believes that Jesus Christ paid the penalty for their sins on the cross of Calvary then they are saved and they are justified.

? Easton's Bible Dictionary says of Justification: It is the judicial act of God, by which he pardons all the sins of those who believe in Christ, and accounts, accepts, and treats them as righteous in the eye of the law. Justification is not the forgiveness of a man without righteousness, but a declaration that he possesses a righteousness which perfectly and for ever satisfies the law, namely, Christ's righteousness… The sole condition on which this righteousness is imputed or credited to the believer is faith in or on the Lord Jesus Christ.

When you understand the Bible there are not many different ways to Heaven and there are not many different gods to take you there. There is only one God and only one way to Heaven and that is through Jesus Christ.

Phil 2.12… work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

Warren Wiesbe in his Bible Commentary says: The verb workout carries the meaning of work to full completion. … In Paul's day it was used for working a mine. That is getting out of the mine all the valuable ore possible, or working a field, so as to get the greatest harvest possible.
