The Bread of Life Discourse - Jesus and the Multitude

The Bread of Life discourse is the climax of the sign of the multiplication of the loaves and fish which occurred the previous day. It keeps with John's pattern of recording Jesus' actions/signs which He then interpreted with words/discourses. So here: The multitude who'd been fed followed Jesus to Capernaum seeking another feeding sign from Him; Jesus explained that He was that sign - the true "heavenly bread" which would satisfy their hunger forever.
