The Fear of God's Wrath

Many today are filled with fear, afraid not only over what is happening in this world, but controlled by various phobias that paralyze them. But the One they ought to fear the most, they do not fear. That One is God. Many today think of God as a benevolent grandfather figure or deny His existence. Most scoff at the idea of a future judgment. But in the future, when Jesus opens the sixth sealed judgment, mankind will realize that the 'day of the LORD', the 'great day of God's wrath' has come, and they will quake in fear. But instead of calling out to God to save them, in their hardened unbelief, they will cry out to Mother Nature to hide them from God's wrath. No one will be able to stand in that day. For believers today, we do not need to be afraid for 'God did not appoint us to wrath but to obtain salvation through Jesus Christ'. But 'knowing the terror of the Lord' should compel us to 'persuade men', that is to share the gospel with them so that they might escape God's coming wrath.
