Introduction & Peter's Salutation

Peter writes to the churches of his day that were living in the country that is today called Turkey. He writes to encourage them as they suffered fiery trials and persecutions for Christ's sake. The encouragement is found in the terms foreknowledge and election. My how times have changed. Most professing believers today have no idea what the Bibles teaches concerning the foreknowledge and election of God. Therefore they cannot receive through either of these topics the encouragement there is for them from the Lord.
