Preaching Christ to the Colonies
Daniel and Heather Giesbrecht join me on the broadcast today to talk about their mission work to Mennonites in Bolivia.

Bolivia is home to many large colonies of Mennonites. Many of these Menonites, while religious, are not right with God. They practice a form of legalism - seeking to merit salvation by good works. In their case these good works include a strict separation from "the world".

Part of their error is that they have taken that separation from the world to the extreme by seeking to insulate themselves from worldliness by isolating themselves from modern society and the technologies associated with it. That strategy has failed miserably for the Mennonites. While it may not be well known to many outside of their communities, members who have left have told of wide-spead immorality and abuse within the colonies.

Daniel and Heather will seek to bring the Truth of the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to these colonies. That Good News being that Christ has earned a perfect righteousness on behalf of His People. And that righteousness is imputed to us by faith in Christ. Additionally, Christ has provided a perfect atonement for our sins, via His death on the cross. So now, in both Precept and Penalty the Law of God has been completely satisfied on our behalf.
Flowing from that new relationship with God the Father via Christ, Daniel and Heather will seek to show the Mennonites in these colonies how they too can live a Joyous and Victorious Christian Life.
