Leaving God? 3

NTRO: Our subject is leaving God. Leaving God is a very real, ever present danger for every true believer. It is a personal danger. The danger of a church or the danger of a whole denomination. My wife was listening to Vance Havner, a preacher from the old school, whom you can listen to on sermonindex. Let me recommend Leonard Ravenhill on that site as well. Now according to these preachers, who lived not too long ago, the majority of professing Christians are not saved. The danger of professing to be a Christian without truly being born again, is danger is as great, or greater than leaving God. As my wife was listening to Vance Havner I jotted these two quotes down.
He said, “The majority of church members give no evidence of ever having been born again.” Then he said, “I could have led some people to the Lord if they hadn’t joined a Church.” Those who have become church members and have not truly been born again are, according to the words of Jesus, twofold more the child of hell.
