By imputed righteousness, the sinner is legally declared to be a saint of God, and yet morally, the believer is not himself actually holy. The old flesh is still corrupted by sin, and is far from holy. It is the gracious work of God's Spirit to transform the sinner more and more, to live for Christ and as a testimony of the indwelling Spirit of Christ:
