The Second Great Commandment

This sermon discusses the second of the two great commandments that Jesus gave in response to the question: The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these. " (NKJV) This sermon specifically addresses the following questions: 1)Why should people love one another? 2) Why do people not love one another as they should? 3) What does God require in this second great commandment? 4) What is the true foundation of justice among men? 5) How can we show our love for our neighbour?
