A Sensible Sense

Paul's benedictory prayer, as recorded in II Corinthians 13:14, includes "and the love of God." Elsewhere, in Romans 5:5, Paul writes that, "the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us." The believer should not only think correctly about the nature of God's love, a love manifest in the sending and sacrifice of God the Son, but he should have a sensible sense of that love. This message focuses upon the demonstration of God's love in the person and work of Christ as well as upon knowing consciously the reality of that love. John writes, "Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another."
