What the offering meant

Have you ever stopped to think about this and what was just asked of the Israelite people here? Just a few short months ago they were slaves down in Egypt now here they are and God is asking them to take up an offering one that by most estimates would have run in excess of $5 million dollars today just to build the tabernacle. Yet God had already provided all the good when they left Egypt. God was seeking a free will offering from the people He loved not because HE was poor but because He wanted to bless His people. He didn't demand anything but He did specify what was required. The reason He did so was because each of these items meant something, they stood in representation of a greater purpose.
