The "Wisdom" of Zophar

Unlike the previous two friends of Job, Zophar does not appeal to ancient wisdom. For him, life is black and white, very simple. The simple answer? Job is a wicked, evil man. Zophar makes up things for which he can accuse Job. He is relentless, showing no sympathy. For Zophar, Job could be getting worse, and should be thankful he is not - therefore Job should repent now and fix things while he can. Zophar's speeches distort the truth about God and in the end do not offer any kind of real solution to Job.
