Cursing and Crying
Series Job
43
By the third chapter, Job is so overcome with sorrow and grief that he curses the day he was born, and he bitterly laments his situation. In the end, he just wants rest, wants it to be over. Lessons? Job, in focusing on the "why" of his suffering, has lost the "way" of faith. Job is contending with God, always a losing proposition. In the end, the only thing worthy despairing about is our own sin and its consequences. Rather than contend with God, have faith and rest in His work for you in Christ Jesus.
