Magnifying God's Love for Us

This week, our beloved office cat, Mr. Andrew, had to be put down due to age and sickness. There were many characteristics of Mr. Andrew's personality that endeared him to us all, but now he is gone, and all we have are our memories of him.

What a sad commentary on the weakness of our love for our animals that, in the end, the best we can do for them is put them out of their misery. Our love cannot save anyone or anything that we cherish, no matter how dear they are to us.

How infinitely greater is our God's love for His people! He has all power to do good for us, even as we are weak and cannot do good for those we love who die and are no more.

Love is very hard to explain, and certainly we do not understand why God loves us, but He declares He does!

We could not communicate much with Mr. Andrew, nor he with us. But our God knows our hearts, and He has sent His Son to show us His love for us.

Love can be a burden to us when sacrifice is required, but God's love is inexhaustible!

We could not communicate to Mr. Andrew our delight in him, but God has been explicit and fervent in His protestations of love toward us!

In the end, the ones we love are always torn away from us. Praise God, nothing can separate us from God's love in Christ Jesus! He has the power over death itself, and He will never lose a single one of those who come to Him!

Our love is frustrated by our weakness, but God's love is enabled by His infinite power!

Animals, children, and even immature adults measure love by the goodies bestowed.

But we perceive God's love by knowing the great cost of His love: the Sacrifice of His Dear Son the Lord Jesus at Calvary. We are very loved!
