a. He makes Satan a toothless dog by His death (14)
b. He takes away the bully's threat by His death (15)
c. He grabs you and runs because of His death (16)

Because of His new solidarity with you.... (2:17-18)
a. He is able to be your perfect mediator through His death (17a)
b. He is able to make perfect atonement for you through His death (17b)
c. He is able to be perfectly helpful in your suffering (18)
