Isaiah 1:1-20
Fiendish nation. Rebellious children. Jubilant, charismatic worship? It marked Isaiah’s day. It marks our own. God detests the hypocrisy of raising open hands in worship while raising closed fists against his people. If God is not merciful to his church in our day, how can we not become like Sodom? We are “huts in a cucumber patch” (Isaiah 1:8).
