I. THE SOBER NATURE OF THE PSALM
A. The Subtitle
- Sheminith is contrasted with Alamoth in 1 Chronicles 15:20-21, and seems to mean low notes for the male singers.
- Psalm 6 is the only other Psalm using this term which also contains a very sober message. Psalm 46 is the only Psalm using the term Alamoth which is a Psalm of rejoicing.
B. The Opening Word
Only three verses in the entire Bible begin with the word help, all three are found in the book of Psalms. It is important to as God to help (Psalm 79:9, 109:26)
This is the only chapter or psalm that begins with the word help.
II. THE PLEA FOR GOD'S HELP (Psalm 12:1-2)
A. The Request for Help (Psalm 12:1)
- The clear cry—"Help"
- The focus of that plea—"LORD." He is OUR HELP (Psalm 33:20, 44:26, 124:8, 121:1)
The Resurrection (celebrate Resurrection Sunday) (Revelation 22:1-5, Luke 20:34-38, Philippians 3:20-21, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 1 Corinthians 15:26, 39-42, 51-54)
