The Glory and Pleasure of Serving the Church

Service in the Church is not only Christ-like (Luke 22:27) it is also God-glorifying. It brings glory to God by the evidence of growth in grace. But serving the Church also brings pleasure. It bring pleasure to the one serving like a son who wants to please his father by doing things for him (Psalm 40:8). It brings pleasure to God (Hebrews 13:16) and then to others (Acts 20:17-38).
