God's Promise is an Inheritance for Abraham and His Seed and Cannot be Earned by Keeping the Law

- God's promise is a testament which even amongst men is firm and to which nothing can be added or subtracted (v. 15).
- God's promise is ultimately with Christ (Seed), i.e. with God Himself and cannot be annulled (v. 16, 17).
- God's promise is an inheritance (testament) which cannot be earned (law-keeping) (v. 18).
- Then what purpose is the law?
A. To show transgressions till the promised Seed come (v. 19)
B. It was temporary, brought by angels and a mediator (v. 20) - Mediator not of one, but God is one? (v. 20)
