To be "swift to hear" is not just moralistic advice, but a command rooted in the character of God who delights in listening to his children. In this lesson we look at why we should be swift to hear (because our words will be judged, to gain wisdom, to guard against sin), who we are to listen to (the Lord, the wise, those who are older), and how we are to listen (paying attention with our whole mind, body and heart; unselfishly; and by asking open-ended questions).
