The Mentality For Running The Race

Paul uses the metaphor of a runner in a race to describe the Christian life. If the Corinthians were to avoid being disqualified from the race, they had to pay careful heed to the example of the Israelites.
1-They needed to reflect on the similiarity between their privileges and Israel's.
2-They needed to remember that in spite of their privileges, the Israelites came under severe judgment.
